Welcome back to Two-Minute Tuesday with Keith and Sophia from Target Property Spain!
This week’s question is a straightforward one, but it often catches people out—especially those visiting or moving from countries where driving starts earlier:
“How old do I have to be to drive in Spain?”
🚗 The Legal Driving Age in Spain
In Spain, you must be at least 18 years old to legally drive a car.
It doesn’t matter if you already have a valid driving licence from another country—like the UK (where driving starts at 17) or the USA (where it can start as early as 16). If you’re under 18, you cannot drive on Spanish roads, full stop.
This rule applies whether you’re visiting as a tourist, living here temporarily, or planning to relocate.
